Coconut oil is expressed from the coconut meat kernels of the coconut palm, Cocos nucifera. It provides a fluffy cleansing lather and also lays down a protective layer on the skin. It provides natural disinfectant and healing properties and helps keep skin soft. 
 
(Sodium Hydroxide, also known as lye, is necessary for making natural bar soap. When combined together, lye (Alkali) and fats (Acid) neutralize each other and go through a process that is known as saponification. In other words it becomes soap with no active lye present)
